Badami…. The land of Maharshi Agastya, was once a significant centres and capital of Chalukya empire in its past glorious period.
The beauty of Badami caves and monuments spread around Agastya lake is just out of the world. Built around 6th century by Chalukya, Its ruins are the signature of the beginning of powerful Chaulkya dynasty glory.
Carved out of a red sandstone hill overlooking the beautiful Agasthya lake, out of all the location here Badami caves happens to be the main tourist attraction. Adorned with many exquisite sculptures, the style and architecture remind us of magnificent ellora caves. Its also a fine example of the united fabric of secular India having Hindu , Jains and Buddhist structure in the same premises.

STEP WELLS… Usually is a concept seen only in India. Throughout India there are dozens of step well. Maharashtra has one too. Step wells are used for water retention and distribution. Baramotichi Vihir, ancient Step Well, 110 feet deep and 50 feet in diameter, octagonal in shape was constructed between 1641 AD and 1646 AD by Sahu Virubhai Bhosale.
